SBDA + ICC Courses Print E-mail

TEN-80 are now running S.B.D.A + I.C.C courses between Monday and Friday each week throughout the 2011 season!


The courses are designed to teach you basic boat handling techniques and also how to tow skiers and riders following the guidelines set out by the Brtish Waterski and Wakeboard federation.  You are required to have a basic knowledge of boat driving and situational awareness before embarking on the course, which includes the following:-

30 minutes in the boat (with instructor) covering the following points (Cost £ 75.00):

  • Understanding the boat controls 
  • Driving in a straight lineBOAT
  • Launch and parking manoevres
  • Towing a skier or rider
  • Approaching a skier or rider adopting safe handling techniques
  • P-turns

The Practical Examination (£75.00):

Here you will be required to demonstrate a full understanding of the techniques and boat handling skills learnt in your initial 30 minute session.  You will also be required to tow a skier or rider to show that you have understood the requirements and safe practises that are adopted by all SBDA qualified drivers!

The Written Examination (£113.00):

You are required to take a written examination which covers other areas of the SBDA + ICC qualification, such as Skier to Driver signals and also safe practises on coastal waters, as well as covering guidelines set out by the Cost Guard and also rules and regulations in place on inland waterways!

This segment of the course also includes your membership fees to the British Waterski and Wakeboard Federation to enable you to obtain your certification documents.  You will need to provide 2 PASSPORT PHOTOS to be sent with the application!
